Twyford Bathrooms on TV

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

The bathroom manufacturer Twyford will be appearing on TV today (Thursday 11th June).

The bathroom company, which is based in Alsager, features on a TV show called Made In Britain. In this programme the comedian Dom Joly travels all round the UK trying to replace anything in his home and wardrobe from overseas with products made in Britain.

Filming took place at the Twyford Alsager factory during March. The presenter Dom spent lots of time on the shop floor, getting his hands dirty exploring the details of the Sanitaryware factory and meeting a number of potters. He was genuinely surprised at the fact that modern day pottery manufacturing processes mix sophisticated computers and robotics with traditional hand crafting. He found the “function” testing of toilets highly amusing and was especially impressed at the excellent performance of the Twyford Flushwise water saving toilets.

This episode is called – Great British Loos and it will be screened on the digital channel Blighty @ 10am, 2pm & 8pm with a repeat at 1.30am tomorrow

Eco-Friendly Bathroom Products

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

There are a growing number of Eco-friendly bathroom products on the market today.  In addition to new products you can also help conserve precious commodities like water by changing you bathroom habits.

  • Why not shower as an alternative to taking a bath? The latest shower baths offer a fantastic compromise between a useful showering area and a practical bathing space.
  • You should try to encourage your family to use the ‘short flush’ option whenever possible if your toilet is fitted with a ‘dual flushing’ mechanism.
  • Why not consider fitting one of the new Twyford ‘Flushwise’ toilets with their reduced 4 and 2 litre flushing system?
  • Why not try washing, and shaving in a basin of water as opposed to leaving a tap running.
  • When cleaning your teeth use a toothbrush tumbler for the water, instead of running water.
