Creating an en-suite or a second bathroom can make a huge difference to your home and if planned well can be squeezed into the smallest of spaces. An en-suite can make a house more attractive to potential buyers if you are looking to sell your home. An en-suite bathroom doesn’t have to require lots of room, you could for example take some space from a room next door to make sure you can install a shower, toilet and basin properly. Alternatively if your home has plenty of rooms you could think about converting a bedroom into a second bathroom.

It can be a challenge planning an en-suite bathroom, have a good think about what you can fit in the space. It might be a good idea to put a large basin and toilet in rather than squeezing in a really small shower as well, this way you will have enough space to move around in.

It is a good idea to make sure you have suitable ventilation in the bathroom if you don’t have a window, this will ensure condensation is taken away by the fan so the bathroom doesn’t become damp. If you don’t have a window make sure you have good lighting to make the room brighter.
